My client is an established supplier to the UK , European High Street, and the USA -they are looking for an experienced Fabric Technologist to be based in their offices in Leicestershire, UK

This role is for someone who will work closely and be a great support to the design team sourcing innovative , sustainable fabrics and trims and presenting innovation to the leadership team.
Main Responsibilities
- Work closely with Design teams to source new fabrics within their requirements.
- Fabric development
- Establish and maintain contact with suppliers, discussing newness, trends and specific customer interests with design.
- Attend trade shows with design.
- Check lab dip submissions for new developments, feeding back to the factory
- Risk assess new designs ensuring all raw materials are compliant and fit for purpose and discuss any issues / concerns with the team / factory / supplier.
- Attend weekly development meetings and customer meetings where Fabric Tech support is needed
- Work with Design and Garment Technologists to establish selected raw materials are viable for their chosen end use.
- Attend weekly critical path meetings. Feedback on completion of fabric technical tasks. Aid team as appropriate with any issues that arise.
- Manage test reports in line with Brand specifications. Ensure the factory are aware and compliant with brand technical guidelines.
- Work with the factories / design / garment technologists to establish and maintain the list of standard components.
Key Skills:
- Fabric textile related qualification and experience
- Good team player who is conscientious, energetic and enthusiastic
- Effective communication skills both written and oral.
- Good working knowledge of Excel/ MS Office Suite.
- Have an ability to work to critical deadlines
- Accurate, methodical and organised with attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise and multi-task
