Description

Recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an experienced Print Designer. To be part of this forward-thinking fashion brand that thrives on creativity,  and is influenced by a love of the coast and the outdoor lifestyle.  You will be responsible for driving the brand forward in terms of research, identifying and interpreting trends to create unique, innovative and inspirational seasonal print designs for Women’s and Menswear, which are also reflective of brand values.

Print Designer – Job Outline

  • Engaging in seasonal research for themes/ concepts and print / seasonal colour direction
  • Ensuring that prints and patterns are inspirational, unique and in line with the brand values and handwriting.
  • Creating prints via hand painting and free drawing, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Creating artworks to technical standards using clear and original repeats, colour separations and have a good understanding of print techniques and process.
  • Communicating all artworks in a clear and consistent way to suppliers and product team, using accurate and informative guides and artwork to ensure design vision is met and executed.
  • Ensure print and pattern concepts are aligned across all product categories from design to production.
  • Confident presenting design concepts to Head of Design, Design Team and Creative Director.

Print Designer – Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a womenswear print design role – men’s print / illustration design advantageous.
  • Experience in designing original prints from concept to technical artwork.
  • Range of skills including hand painting, free drawing and CAD.
  • Strong understanding of print techniques, process and supplier capabilities.
  • A good sense of colour and palette building.
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe packages, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • High levels of commercial awareness.
  • Versatile with “can-do” attitude, able to work within multidisciplinary teams to challenging deadlines.
  • Great organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Educated to degree level in a graphic/ print/ textile design discipline would be advantageous.
