We are looking for someone with True Knitwear Design experience for a global apparel business who are renown for producing exceptional quality, and who are going through an exciting period of growth.
We need someone ideally Midlands based who is passionate about product , hands on, innovative and trend led with an excellent technical knowledge of knit and yarns. Essentially with an understanding, experience and design handwriting of the UK retail market.
Senior Knitwear Designer– The Role
- Develop trend and mood boards, including shape, colours and yarns.
- Designing trend led ranges across Ladies, men’s and Kids Fashion Knitwear.
- Sourcing new yarns and trims in-line with trends at the start and throughout the season.
- Presenting trend and ranges to buyers and actioning any design requests.
- Produce detailed tech packs and specs for accurate first-time samples.
- Monitoring range and customer sampling through from start to finish.
- Building strong relationships with clients, developing both new and existing accounts.
- Liaise with teams in Bangladesh for all developments.
- Analyse catwalks and competitors, report and spot missed opportunities.
Senior Knitwear Designer– The Candidate
- Experience within Men’s, ladies and kids knitwear preferable
- Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workloads.
- Driven and passionate.
- Confident presenting to clients at all levels.
- Strong commercial awareness and being up to date with current trends.
- Good understanding of yarns , gauges and garment construction to develop samples and ranges effectively.
- Excellent Attention to detail.
- Strong CAD skills and capable of producing detailed and clear tech packs and specifications that are easy for factories to understand.
