A well-known Childrenswear business in Essex is on the lookout for a Junior Designer to join their passionate team!

You will be responsible for trend research, designing and development of the products, and providing integral support with the factories, but also the wider design team.

This business is a real gem, and they always look to give you the relevant and support and tools to ensure you really are the best you can be in the role.

 

Junior Childrenswear Designer- The Role

  • Generate and maintain a high standard of design within the customer and brief, adhering to strict deadlines
  • Stay up to date with latest trends by attending regular store visits, and shop reports
  • Maintain design development from initial meeting with the customer to ensure accurate placement of orders
  • Coordinate with the Senior Designer and Account Manager to ensure price needs are met at the design stage
  • Liaise with the technical team to ensure specs are a correct representation of the design
  • Create and send new sample requests, line drawings, style details and artwork to the factories
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the customer base when creating designs
  • Ensure the accurate recording of all relevant design information onto the internal system
  • Supply the factories with clear and concise style details and accurate artwork; sending reference sources where applicable
  • Respond to customer and factory queries
  • Liaise with Licensors and assist with checking License approvals including concept, strike offs and PP sample uploads obtaining full product approval
  • Assist with the design of new packaging for each range where applicable

 

Junior Childrenswear Designer- The Person

  • Creative and trend driven with a good eye for colour and fabric
  • Attentive to detail with the ability to think creatively
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team player and able to build relationships
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • To be able to deal with all challenges in a calm and positive manner
