I am partnering with a globally recognised organisation who is looking to appoint a Merchandiser into the team. This business is a key player in the branded fashion world!
They are looking to recruit a strong and dynamic Merchandiser to play an important role across 3some of their brands.
As well as monitoring stock, maintaining margins, and forecasting sales, you will also play a pivotal part in driving sales onsite where possible. You will conduct competitor research, action markdowns, create reporting on stock coverage/ OTB/ sales trends, but also work with the wider sales team and stakeholders to provide suggestions on how you can keep pushing sales.
You will hold excellent numerical and analytical skills, combined with great organisation and understanding of commercial awareness.
They are a small team, so they need people who are proactive, forward thinking and of course a team player.
Merchandiser: The Role
- Prepare weekly, quarterly, and seasonal trade and inventory performance reports to provide actionable insights to the team.
- Conduct comprehensive post-event and promotion analyses, identifying successes and areas for improvement.
- Compile in-depth seasonal product reviews, highlighting hits, misses, and opportunities for upcoming seasons.
- Conduct monthly website analyses and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide ad hoc analyses as required to support decision-making processes.
- Conduct competitive analyses to support product, pricing, and promotional strategies, identifying opportunities and gaps in the market.
- Forecast seasonal trends and provide recommendations to the design team for product development.
- Develop assortment plans based on Open-To-Buy (OTB) parameters, suggesting core and carryover lines.
- Prepare product selection and place orders in line with OTB and launch objectives.
- Prepare seasonal buy review presentations, summarising buys against OTB, range plans, and identifying gaps.
- Manage gaps and cancellations post-order confirmation, ensuring minimal impact on product availability.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop launch-specific marketing plans and product pack for website uploads.
- Coordinate with operations to monitor and manage delivery schedule, ensuring timely market launches.
- Evaluate in-season buy adjustments based on performance and inventory levels.
- Oversee correct allocations to e-commerce channels, optimizing inventory distribution.
- Plan and execute replenishments to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Prepare monthly inventory progression reports, monitoring inventory cover against targets.
- Strategize promotions and discounts to achieve revenue and inventory objectives.
Merchandiser: The Person
- 4+ years’ experience in merchandising, inventory management, or retail analytics.
- Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel or similar tools.
- Excellent organizational and time-management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for streetwear fashion and trends.
