Description

My client has been at the forefront of luxury bridal and eveningwear for 32 years. Known for understated effortless glamour and clean classic lines with contemporary touches. Each gown is meticulously handcrafted in the United Kingdom for a flawless result, making the label a triumph of British design and craftsmanship. They are now looking for a QC Manager to join the team.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day quality checks on dresses/accessories and communication with the relevant departments.

The successful candidate will ideally have a fashion related degree or relevant qualification and at least 3 years’ experience working in fashion/bridal wear. You will require an understanding of how to measure garments and patterns. Knowledge of altering patterns is preferable.

 

QC Manager - Main duties-

  • Measuring dresses/accessories both on the stand and flat, ensuring it is within tolerance and in line with the ease. This will also include checking against the pattern.
  • Visually checking dresses/accessories against our checklists and documenting any failures. Feedback will need to be communicated to the relevant in-house machinist/outworker.
  • Preparing and documenting all notes and pictures on Access.
  • Pack dresses ready for dispatch.
  • Produce reports including rework’s, QC failure feedback, workroom performance.
  • Producing dispatch notes where required.
  • Communicate any re-occurring issues with styles/patterns to the relevant departments and assist in finding solutions.
  • Organise patterns and toiles.

Other duties-

  •  Manual pattern amendments and support Pattern cutter, where needed.
  • Measuring toiles.

 

QC Manager - Skills and experience required-

  •  Fashion or Textile related degree or relevant qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in fashion/bridal wear.
  • Understanding on measuring garments and patterns.
  • Knowledge of altering patterns is preferrable. Experience working with Gerber is advantage.
  • Ability to sew and understand construction techniques.
  • A keen interest in luxury womenswear/bridalwear.
  • Highly organised and proactive.
  • Ability to use Microsoft programmes and our internal system.
  • Flexible working approach and able to adapt to the needs of the team.
