As Head of Sourcing & Costing, this individual will provide leadership in all aspects of Global Sourcing and Supply Chain Management including supplier performance management and market analysis.
Accountable for implementing sourcing strategies and for supplier selection and relationship management, negotiating multiple product categories and securing production capacity. To provide Team leadership, mentoring, and the development of a high-performing team of sourcing and costing professionals.
The ideal candidate will be a highly analytical and results-oriented leader, with a proven track record of success in the development and implementation of innovative sourcing strategies for apparel.
Head of Sourcing & Costing – The Job Outline
- In collaboration with the Product and Manufacturing Director to define and implement a rolling Group Global Sourcing Strategy.
- Develop a global source of preferred cost competitive suppliers that constantly innovate and improve processes to reduce costs within established and emerging low-cost manufacturing regions.
- Manage the negotiation of product cost prices with direct ethically compliant suppliers maximising group gross profit.
- Identify and implement cost-reduction initiatives across all categories, conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain awareness and react to current market trends and conditions effecting cost or strategy implications.
- Collaboration with suppliers Executive leadership in ensuring alignment to Strategic objectives and supplier delivery expectations.
- Supplier performance management – monitor, analyse and evaluate against targets on a regular basis.
- Build and enhance relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation and develop sourcing strategies to meet their requirements.
- Line management Sourcing team. Manage a team of product aligned Costing specialists.
- Extensive international travel is required.
Head of Sourcing & Costing – The Person Specification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in similar global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within the apparel industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing supplier relationships and driving cost savings (garment and fabric suppliers, processes and capabilities).
- Indepth knowledge of materials, commodities and manufacturing costs.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills.
- Results-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Adaptable and open to change in a dynamic industry.
- Confident team leader.
- MS Office (Advanced Excel and Powerpoint).
