Recruiting for an enthusiastic, self motivated team player for the position of Assistant Garment Technologist. This will be a great 1st or 2nd job in the garment industry, as you will have access to onsite manufacturing and can follow the garment construction process.
You will be part of a highly experienced Technical Team, and will assist with product development from enquiry stage through to production with a focus on quality.
Assistant Garment Technologist - The Role
- Manage daily enquiries, product development tasks which includes sourcing of fabric and trims and requesting sampling length, lab-dips etc.
- Assist with line drawings, product specifications, bill of materials including labelling.
- Assist with sample / production checks to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Create sample logs detailing measurements, make-up & quality checks to feedback to sample maker / supplier / customer.
- Assist with non-compliance reports and supplier management.
- Work closely with Sales and Operations team as well as manufacturer and quality teams to ensure product from concept to bulk is as required.
- Collaborate with near shore and offshore suppliers
Assistant Garment Technologist -The Person Spec
- The ideal applicant will have internship/practical work experience within garment technology or product development.
- A knowledge of product development cycle, garment construction, and quality control.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage and create accurate data/records.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and Adobe Illustrator Pattern cutting experience would be beneficial (preferably Lectra).
