Description

Recruiting for an experienced Menswear Designer to identify trends for shape and fabrics, and to create and develop commercial casualwear ranges for key retailers and etailers.   

You will be part of a dedicated menswear team within an established supplier, and previous experience within a similar role is preferrable.  You will have the ability to manage your sample development process, liaise with mills and to confidently present your designs.

Menswear Designer – Casualwear – The Role;

  • Research and identify the latest key trends to inspire and develop new garments/ranges
  • Confidently present and pitch new garment ranges to customers, showcasing the latest designs and trends.
  • Update cribs and final sketches for the factory and commercial team.
  • Complete full tech packs and arrange swatch packs, ensuring selections align with customer briefs.
  • Liaise with fabric mills and internal fabric teams to source samples.
  • Order fabrics, match Pantones, and chase mills/factories to produce samples to meet deadlines.
  • Ensure all samples and packs are ready for courier dispatch.
  • Send out new fabric briefs to suppliers and chase in readiness for meetings; counter-source fabrics and trims to price.
  • Handle incoming mail and parcels.
  • Update price cribs with correct component information, ensuring accuracy for costings.

Menswear Designer – Casualwear – The Person Specification

  • A degree or qualifications relevant to design.
  • Previous experience in mens multicategory casualwear from within a supplier /manufacturing environment - (shirts and trousers preferred).
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Print Design experience preferred.
  • CLO 3D software experience.
  • Strong product development skills. Excellent technical and creative design skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • A confident, proactive approach, capable of working effectively in a team under pressure in a demanding fast-paced environment.
