British clothing brand known for producing stylish and quality driven mens & womenswear is recruiting for Factory Supervisor.
To oversee the manufacturing production process, coordinating all production activities and operations, and maintaining exceptional quality levels within their UK Factory. You will be required to plan and organise daily workflow to achieve required delivery dates, and with the ability to resolve daily QC and work issues in a timely manner. This position will report to the Factory Manager.
Factory Supervisor - Responsibilities
- Responsible for raising cutting controls on the in-house system for the Factory.
- Manage fabric deliveries from Warehouse into cutting room and fabric usage for all orders.
- Organise the daily workflow of all operations from the cutting room, through sewing, to press and pack ensuring all day-to-day issues in the production line are resolved.
- Ensure all QC issues are resolved efficiently ensuring that Purchase orders are put through the production line efficiently.
- Supervise the QC process and review all issues so they are resolved quickly, ensure QC reports are delivered on a weekly base.
- Work closely with the Factory Manager on improving sewing methods in the production.
- Work closely with Senior Product Developer on new sample developments. Help with lay plan ratings and costings, also effectively supervise the sewing line for seasonal sample sets.
- Responsible for all stock levels of WIP, trims and consumables, perform stock takes twice yearly.
- Scan in and monitor all daily work sheets from all factory operators, analyse daily performance.
- Produce weekly production reports to monitor factory output and performance.
- Implement training for new starters and new operations as and when required.
- Ensure machinery is safe and well maintained and liaise with outside contractors to attend to machine/equipment breakdown.
- Ensure that all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to withing the Factory.
Factory Supervisor - Experience and Skills
- Previous experience within similar production supervisor, sample/cutting room or factory supervisor role within fashion or textiles is essential. Preferably with good understanding of working with jersey.
- A strong knowledge of manufacturing standards and Health and Safety requirements.
- Proactive, highly organised person – with an eye for detail Ability to work on own initiative and manage own time.
- Excellent organisational and planning and communication skills.
- Understanding of working to critical dates and deadlines. Exceptional understanding of quality and attention to detail. IT Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel) and knowledge of production software Well organised, systematic, and logical. Highly motivated with a disciplined approach to problem solving.
