Celebrating 20 Years in Fashion

Fashion and clothing recruitment specialist People Marketing is celebrating twenty years of service to the industry. Managing Director Liz Gilder has seen her company adapt and thrive through enormous changes in the way it does business and in trends and styles.

When People Marketing was first launched, M & S dominated the High Street, Next was a relative newcomer and garment manufacturing in the UK was still commonplace. As times have changed in the fashion sector, so have they in recruitment. Technology has transformed the industry. Liz Gilder's team have gone from preparing paper CVs to be faxed or posted to handling sophisticated databases and interacting with contacts through electronic social and business networking sites such as Facebook and Linked-in. Whilst the internet was virtually unknown in 1989, today it is the most valuable tool in recruitment and the People Marketing website is the window to numerous opportunities for designers, merchandisers, buyers and other professionals within the fashion sector.

Despite all the technical advances, the one thing that hasn't changed is that People Marketing remains a people business. Unlike ripped jeans and ra-ra skirts, good service has been in fashion at People Marketing for twenty years
