Our client is a looking to recruit an experienced Womenswear Designer to be part of their thriving lifestyle apparel team.  If you share a passion for designing great product that takes its influence from incredible outdoor surroundings, beach or countryside, this position could be for you. You will be responsible for the design and development of the womenswear category.

Designer – The Job Opportunity

  • The design and production of the womenswear category involving
  • Managing the critical path to ensure that design and sampling deadlines are met
  • Working closely with the managing director and print designer on direction & content for the seasonal womenswear collections
  • Trend and competitor research including tradeshow visits and comp shops
  • Range planning and presentation of ranges for sign off
  • Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers including overseas travel for fabric and sample development
  • Completing detailed tech packs on adobe illustrator
  • Negotiating and agreeing prices with suppliers including price range reviews
  • Commenting on samples from first proto through to photos ample including fit reviews

Designer - Womenswear – The Person Specification

  • Previous experience at senior designer strength in womenswear
  • A feminine handwriting is essential, and preferably a background of designing for the casual lifestyle, or outdoor pursuits branded background.
  • Enthusiastic, creative individual who shares the brand values, ability to translate trends, and inspires those around them
  • Knowledge of sourcing new suppliers, alternative source of supply and negotiation skills
  • Well organised, takes ownership and accountability, and to manage the critical path process from concept to sampling
  • Confident presentation skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (illustrator) and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to work with people in a non-corporate environment
  • A great team player!
  • Must be able to travel UK and abroad as required.
