Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a motivated Sales/Account Manager to join a leading specialist sports accessory brand. This company are looking to enhance their existing sales team with a skilled Sales/Account Manager who has experience in specialist outdoor clothing and accessories.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record of business development and the ability to open doors and close deals. This role will be a 50/50 split of new business development and existing account management.

Sales/Account Manager - The Role:

  • To proactively identify/develop new business opportunities.
  • Managing some existing accounts, develop relationships and growing the business.
  • To ensure effective communication at all levels, internally and externally, and continuously  guarantee all information is provided to customers in a timely, accurate and appropriate way
  • To manage the critical path process, liaising closely with internal & external teams.
  • Reporting to Director and liaising with other Account Managers, you will manage your own work load to ensure sales and revenue targets are exceeded.
  • Liaise with the merchandise, planning and design teams whether in the UK or overseas, balancing the Buyers requirements according to trend/design, but keeping within cost & delivery constraints.
  • Will involve some travel as required.
  • You will need a passion for outdoor products as the company specialises in waterproof clothing/accessories.

Sales/Account Manager - The Candidate:

  • A proven track record within a sales position, within the outerwear or sportswear industry, used to working to targets and passionate about product.
  • Ideal candidate will have 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to identify and develop new opportunities
  • Understands the dynamics of a wholesale or importer business.
  • Highly organised, attentive to detail with excellent communication skills (written & oral)
  • Good networking & negotiation skills.
  • Good team player, proactive, methodical and organised with strong interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised in an accurate and timely manner with attention to detail and within critical deadlines
  • A passion, knowledge and genuine interest in sports and outerwear.
