Job Description

This is a great opportunity for a candidate with production background, with 2 – 5 years previous experience within fashion wholesale/supply, to join a highly reputable High Street supplier in Leicester.

My client is a successful garment manufacturer and supplier of trend led, mid-level women’s fashion jerseywear to the high street, to some of the biggest and most exciting retailers. Production Assistant / Merchandiser – The Role:

  • Working to a fast paced critical path you will take responsibility for production, raising purchase orders, right through to delivery.
  • The placing of labels and trim orders the same day as instruction received; liaising daily with fabric and trimming suppliers with regards to orders.
  • Proactive follow up on chasing approvals ensuring agreed delivery dates being me.
  • Managing the issue of purchase orders / dockets to various factories
  • Approving lab dips, fabrics and trims and updating internal systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the systems ensuring that all order data, both internally and with manufacturers and customers, is up to date and correct.
  • Proactive in helping resolve any critical path and manufacturing issues that might arise.
  • Requesting and reviewing test reports, carrying out in-house tests where necessary.
  • Product development; working with the design team to develop exciting new garments.

Production Assistant / Merchandiser – The Candidate:

  • Experienced in a similar production role, with a minimum of three years’ experience.
  • Highly organised, used to managing a busy work load and prioritising to meet critical path dates.
  • Candidate will require the ability to see things through from conception to successful completion, be accurate, methodical and organised with an attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work using your own initiative.
  • Solid understanding of constraints and timescales would be an advantage.
  • Ability to think on your feet as well as being a team player.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability and enthusiasm to grow and adapt within a fast growing business.
  • We need a bright, inquisitive, eager to learn thinker who can work well under pressure.
