Job Description

A fantastic and rare opportunity has arisen to work for an established design led supplier of beautiful lingerie to the UK and European high street. We are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Executive with a solid background within lingerie to embark on this multi-faceted, varied and extremely hands on role. This position could also suit an existing Senior Sales/Key Account Manager or potentially even Design Manager looking for a change and the next step in their career; again experience in lingerie is essential.

Commercial Executive – Lingerie: The Role

  • You will be a senior point of contact across all existing customer accounts; ensuring your internal team presents itself externally in a way that reflects the business standards and expectations, whilst giving exceptional service to customers.
  • You will proactively seek new business opportunities within existing accounts and also with potential new accounts, through strategic planning.
  • Work closely with the Design Team and Account Handlers, providing sound, practical advice on product requirements to meet both customer costs and company margins.  Ensuring that client expectations are met in relation to new and innovative garments; having a finger on the pulse of the latest trends and competitor products.
  • You will build and nurture factory relationships through constant communication and semi-regular factory visits (Sri Lanka, Bangladesh), developing new manufacturing partners as and when necessary and working tirelessly with the factories/internal teams to maximise margins and optimise planning.
  • You will motivate, inspire and lead internal teams, identifying any gaps where additional support can be called upon. You will also identify and develop opportunities to improve efficiencies.
  • You will contribute and action key areas within the critical path, working closely with the Critical Path Manager and being aware of key dates. Problem solving and decision making within key timelines are also a big part of your role.

Commercial Executive – Lingerie: The Candidate

  • Solid experience within lingerie is required.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels with a proven background in leading/motivating a commercial team in an inclusive and approachable manor; having the ability to improve and build on the talents of team members and identify where support training is essential.
  • Experience of account managing, development and opening doors with major highstreet retailers is required.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore manufacturing processes, ideally and supplying to the UK high street, and experienced in sourcing and working closely with overseas factories, ideally in Far East.
  • Exceptional head for figures and costings, able to provide accurate information to the client and in a position to challenge factory costs with authority. 
  • An organised, analytical and strategic thinker with strong presentation skills.
  • Creative yet highly commercial, driven, motivated and ambitious.
  • Must be eligible to travel overseas on sourcing trips and attend client meetings.
