Job Description

One of the leading accessories suppliers in the UK has a very exciting opening in its team for a Designer of soft accessories. Due to continued growth they are looking for a creative and trend led Designer with experience of designing across multiple account sin a fast paced environment.

You will get the opportunity to travel to overseas for shopping, research and development. You will be a main point of contact for the customers and be heavily involved in client meetings – so polished presentation skills are a must!

Accessories Designer - The Role:

  • Research relevant markets to allow you to build an in depth knowledge of trends to form a platform to design
  • Trend-watch: research and communicate the latest trends across the business and to customers
  • Design product ranges, providing CADs, mood boards and sketches; ensure that all work submitted has a high standard of commerciality and creativity, across market levels and customer demographics
  • Designing entire product from initial concept, working on both shape and print.
  • Present design trends to the business during each season
  • Maintain and build relationships with customers, colleagues and suppliers
  • Work closely with the Key Account Manager to provide exceptional design work for customers
  • Travel to the Far East on sourcing and development trips where necessary and travel worldwide on comp shops, ensuring that return on company expenditure is maximised and that all follow-up documentation is completed
  • Drive best practice to consistently develop and improve the design process
  • Experience of managing multiple accounts in terms of design, in a fast paced creative environment

Accessories Designer – The candidate:

  • 2/3 years’ experience designing fashion accessories
  • Excellent CAD/freehand skills
  • Experience using Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience of presenting in internal and external Trend Presentation and CAD reviews
  • Candidates from a knitwear design background who are looking to make the move to accessories will also be considered.
